At the moment, I am sitting by my gate in the Miami airport. My plane is at 11:55, so I have a little over under hour left and then I will be on my way to Brasilia!
This morning, it just so happened that one of my really good childhood friends and I were leaving at the same time from the same airport. I’m glad I got to see her and her family one more time! They were Florida bound, so I only got to talk to them for a bit before we parted ways.

After that, I sat with my mom and dad and spent time with them until it was time for me to say my goodbyes.

Speaking of saying goodbyes, last night I went over to my Aunt's house to say goodbye to the rest of my family.
Me, Sydney, Nick, and Megan.
My nephew Liam. I will miss this little guy so much.
My flight to Chicago was uneventful, I think the plane ride was only around a half an hour. (I wish all of my plane rides were that short!!) I got to Chicago, and was quite surprised at how easy it was to find my gate, even though it was on the opposite end of the airport. I had a three hour layover there, so I walked around, had lunch, and window shopped before I headed back over to my gate. My plane was supposed to leave at 4:40PM, so when I looked at the time and saw that it was 4:38, I started to get nervous. I turned to the person next to me and asked them if they were at the gate for Miami, but I turns out that was the gate for San Francisco! At that point, I started freaking out because I did NOT want to miss my plane! I ran to the departure board and looked at Miami, and it turns out that I was in K6 (not K7 where I was supposed to be) I ran back to the gate, and was confused when I saw people sitting everywhere. I thought I had found the wrong place again, but nonetheless, I walked up to a lady and asked her if she was going to Miami. She said yes, and so at that point I just figured the plane was delayed. I explained my situation, and she looked at me weird and said “Its not 4:40, its 3:40.” My phone time didn’t correspond with the time change. I felt so relieved yet so stupid!
So around 4:10, they started boarding people on the plane. I was in group 4, so I had to wait to board last. By the time I got up to the lady, they had run out of space for overhead carry-ons. They took mine away and are going to send it to Brasilia, so hopefully it will be waiting with my other luggage when I get there!
In the Miami airport, there are a lot of cool decorations. I took a couple pictures that will be below.

Okay, that is all for now! I will post the second part of my airport travels soon!

PS. I wrote this while I was in the airport, but the wifi wasn't very good and so it wouldn't upload in time. That is why I am posting it now!
