So much has happened since I have been in Brazil. It is such a beatuful country, and in the midst of it all I guess I completely tossed my blog to the sidelines (which isn’t an excuse.) I have a lot lot lot to catch up on, so let’s hop right in!
My first few weeks in Brazil were like a dream for me. I couldn’t quite wrap my head around the fact that I wasn’t in the United States anymore (sometimes I still can’t.) I started school the within a week of getting here. It is so different from school back home. Students call teachers by their first name, teachers are the ones late for class instead of the students, and playing guitar during class is completely normal. I couldn’t be happier about how laid back school here is.
A couple of weeks after I got here, my host family took me on a trip to Sao Paulo, the biggest city in Brazil for a holiday called "Children's Day" (my new favorite holiday.). We left on Friday and got back on Monday.

As you can see, it is a huuuuge city.
While we were in Sao Paulo, we went to an aquarium. I had to add this picture because this little guy is so cute. It looks like he's smiling!
We also went to the coolest movie theater ever. It had recliners and waiters!
Here is the view of Sao Paulo when we were leaving on the airplane. All of the lights were so beautiful.
After Sao Paulo, the next little vacation I took was to Caldas Noves. It is a town that is around 3 or 4 hours away from Brasilia by car, and we went because there is a water park there. What makes this water park unique is that all of the water there comes from a stream that comes directly from an underground volcano, so all of the water in the park is fresh water that is like the temperature bath water.
Hot Park, the water park we went to.

This is an underwater picture of the ground in the pools. There were rocks and sand instead of just a concrete bottom, which I thought was really cool.
During our road trip, apparently we drove through New York?? Haha
This is all for now. I will upload another post tomorrow to catch up more!
